Session 1. Deeping Understanding & Discovering Dignity
Dignity, its elements, and its violations. Alternatives to forgiveness on the path to healing. Understanding what forgiveness is not.
Session 2. Telling Your Story in a New Way
How we tell our stories in service of healing. The costs of not telling. Creating a little space between you and your story. Sharing your story in safety. Identifying violations of dignity.
Session 3. Naming & Softening Your Hurt
The power of naming your hurt. Emotional fluency and its role in healing. Understanding what you’ve lost. Honoring your fear, anger, shame, grief and moving forward after violations of dignity.
Session 4. Growing Resilience, Building Your Resources, and Reclaiming Dignity
Emotional agility and resilience. Revenge fantasies as a steppingstone towards taking back your life. The letter I wish you’d written. The anatomy of an apology and the letter I wish you’d written.
Session 5. Fostering Empathy to Forgive Ourselves and Others
The path to self-forgiveness. Recognizing and naming your positive intention. Identifying needs. Distinguishing needs from strategies. The role of empathy in the healing process.
Session 6. Writing Your New Story
Reclaiming and preservation of dignity. How we heal after harm. The choice to release or renew the relationship. Putting it all together on the path to freedom and joy.
A strong evidence base forms the foundation for this trauma-informed coaching experience.
All sharing occurs only in pairs.
